Promote more effective competition in the grocery retail sector
The Swedish grocery retail sector is highly concentrated. It is difficult to establish new stores, and more than one in three municipalities lacks a discount grocery store. The Swedish Competition Authority has presented a report and developed guidance to support municipalities in promoting effective competition in the grocery retail sector. To strengthen competition, we also proposes an amendment to the Swedish Planning and Building Act.

The Swedish Competition Authority has been commissioned by the Ministry of Climate and Enterprise to conduct a market study in the fuel market, with a particular focus on price formation at the consumer level.
