The Swedish Competition Authority is to present the Government with specific proposals for strengthening competition, on the basis of a broad review of the current competitive situation in Sweden.
The Competition Authority, which is the government agency ultimately responsible for ensuring proper competition and effective procurement, is commissioned to undertake a broad review of the competitive situation in Sweden, dealing comprehensively with both new and existing proposals for competition-enhancing reforms and presenting them in concrete form. The competitive advantages that the EU internal market represents for Sweden are also to be addressed.
Reports, including proposals for action, are to be provided to the Ministry of Enterprise, Energy and Communications on a regular basis. A final report on the commission as a whole is to be submitted by 31 March 2009 at the latest.
